This apprenticeship is for people who want to build a career in entertainment and events, and become proficient in some of the industry's specialist skill sets.

Completing the Entertainment and Event Technology apprenticeship will prepare you to work safely and independently in the sector, and become accomplished in two specific practice areas. 

To enrol in this programme, you need to be working in the entertainment and events sector, in a paid job, or self-employed.

This 120-credit apprenticeship is designed to be completed in about 2 years.

You'll be trained and observed in the workplace. Your assessments will be completed online.

You will complete core modules, as well as two out of seven practice area electives.

The core modules are:

  • Industry practices, processes and protocols
  • Professional conduct and etiquette
  • Stakeholder communication skills
  • Health and safety
  • Career development.

The practice areas are: 

  • Rigging: Safely installing, operating and removing strand-specific equipment
  • Lighting: Safely installing, operating and removing strand-specific equipment
  • Live soundSafely installing, operating and removing strand-specific equipment
  • Video: Safely installing, operating and removing strand-specific equipment
  • Stage managementImplementing stage management documentation and production process requirements to ensure the smooth running of a range of complex performances and events
  • Stage mechanicsSafely setting up, operating and removing scenery and stage mechanical devices
  • Scenic constructionConstructing stage scenery using a range of construction methods, equipment and digital technologies.
