Meet our team: Lizzie Parker

Published
Lizzie Parker is the assessor and facilitator liaison lead at Te Mahi Ako. Her career in teaching, learning and assessment started off with a role as a travel and tourism tutor at a private training establishment, followed by working as a lecturer, a programme manager, an assessment writer and a moderator.

After wearing all of these many hats, Lizzie understands assessment and assessors from all angles. She says her core driver at work is that she really loves working with assessors and making sure they are valued and supported in the vital work that they do.

When she’s not busy at work you will find Lizzie on her e-bike scaling the hilly streets of Wellington, and swimming at the local pool. “Once you get into the flow of swimming you can start thinking about other things; it’s quite contemplative,” she says.

Lizzie is proud that Te Mahi Ako helps people working in active recreation to excel in their jobs, and assessors play a huge part in that.

"That's why I enjoy any sort of problem-solving that will support assessors and make their lives easier, alongside my Te Mahi Ako colleagues.”
