Amanda began her aquatics career in 2014 as a part-time lifeguard in Timaru, quickly progressing to a full-time role after gaining her NZC Pool Lifeguard Level 3 qualification. Her leadership journey started as a senior supervisor, where she enjoyed leading a team lifeguard's, before stepping into a team leader role. In this position, she completed her NC First Line Management qualification and became a registered Skills Active Assessor.
In 2018, Amanda made the move to Ōtautahi Christchurch to take on an aquatics coordinator role, leading a full aquatics team and swim school. She joined Skills Active Te Mahi Ako in 2021 and has since been dedicated to supporting ākonga and organisations across the Canterbury region. Alongside her professional work, Amanda has continued her own learning journey, completing qualifications in Sport, Exercise and Leisure Operations, Tikanga, and Māori Business.
Passionate about helping others succeed, Amanda is committed to supporting ākonga to reach their potential, ensuring they have the right tools, guidance, and encouragement to achieve their goals.
Outside of work, she enjoys time outdoors in the sunshine, being with family, and watching a good game of footy.
